TOPIC: Terminal locks up; 'K' appears at bottom of screen. DATE: 06/01/90 PRODUCT: WY-60 THE ISSUE: Symptom - Terminal locks up; 'K' appears at bottom of screen. RESOLUTION: The non-volatile memory needs to be reset. Follow the 'G' key reset procedure below. Be sure to not skip any steps! WY-60 "g-KEY" RESET INSTRUCTIONS Please be sure to reset the terminal after installation of firmware chip as follows: 1. Turn off the terminal, and remove cabling from both the Auxiliary and Modem ports. 2. Hold down the "g" key on the terminal keyboard. (You must keep holding the "g" key down throughout the power up sequence.) 3. Power up terminal. 4. Wait for the terminal to finish its screen diagnostic during the power up sequence. You can tell this is over when you see the screen stop flashing. Also, the status line may appear after a few seconds, or you might see a blinking cursor, or a hear series of beeps. 5. After you have finished the last three steps, turn off the terminal and repeat steps 1,2 and 3 again. *6. When you are finished, release the "g" key and go into setup: (Shift-Setup) or (Shift-Select) or (Shift-Sys Req) depending on your keyboard type. *****7. Default all setup parameters by highlighting "DEFAULT ALL": (Enter the right arrow key three times) and then press the (F10) key. 8. Highlight "Save All"(Enter the right arrow key twice) and then press the (F10) key. 9. Go in to setup and reconfigure the terminal to your systems requirements. Occasionally the terminal's personality parameter will "disappear".
