Citrix Device Services

What is Citrix Device Services (CDS)?

Wyse Technology, in partnership with Citrix Systems, provides Citrix Device Services (CDS) for the award-winning line of Wyse® Winterm™ thin-client terminals. This agreement will enable Wyse to deliver basic ICA functionality for Wyse
terminals connected to a Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition for customers not currently utilizing Citrix MetaFrame.   If you currently have Citrix MetaFrame installed, CDS provides no additional functionality and is not required.

CDS is server-based software that is a subset of a full-featured Citrix MetaFrame offering. Once CDS is installed in conjunction with Terminal Server, it performs as if a basic version of ICA was included.

Why Would You Want CDS?

Citrix Device Services allows current Microsoft Terminal Server users to support devices such as printers connected to serial and parallel ports on Wyse Winterm terminals. Only one copy of CDS is required to support all your Winterm terminals.

How Do I Get a Copy of CDS?  How Much Does It Cost?

  • Installation instructions are available here.

CDS and CDS for Windows 2000 are not available any longer. These documents are for reference only.
