Leon Medical Centers Delivers Quality Care at Affordable Prices with Wyse

Leon Medical Centers serves the Miami-Dade area with a full range of medical services, working exclusively with Leon Medical Centers Health Plans, Inc., a Medicare-contracted Health Management Organization (HMO). Enrollments have been growing at a record pace, so the healthcare provider recently opened two new medical centers, for a total of seven.

The need to replace 40 aging PCs created an opportunity to test out a thin-client approach. IT purchased Wyse R90L desktop units and within months was convinced that thin-client devices were the best way of meeting the organization’s goals of security, reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness. The team decided to start fresh at its two new sites with an upgraded infrastructure using thin clients instead of PCs, and then roll out the new system to existing sites.
