Installing and Removing Wyse^® Winterm™ 3 series Thin Client Firmware and Add-ons Using Wyse Device Manager Scripts – ReadMe

Thank you for your interest in Wyse^® Winterm™ 3 series Thin Client Firmware and Add-ons. For your convenience, the Firmware and Add-ons come with Wyse Device Manager (formally known as Rapport) scripts that you can use to easily install and remove the software on your thin client.

Note: There may be an additional script packaged in the .exe files for both the Firmware and Add-ons.

Purpose of this Documentation

The purpose of this documentation is to provide information on how to use the Wyse Device Manager scripts to install and remove the software for the Wyse^® Winterm™ 3 series Thin Client Firmware and Add-ons. Before you use the scripts, ensure that you know the Wyse Device Manager version and the thin client operating system (CE) version that you are currently running. You must use the correct script for your versions of Wyse Device Manager software and thin client operating system (CE) when installing Firmware and when installing or removing an Add-on.

Using Wyse Device Manager Scripts for the Wyse® Winterm™ 3 series Thin Client Firmware and Add-ons

To install the software on your thin client, point Wyse Device Manager software to the script of the Firmware or Add-on that you want to install and click on the script name (the .exe files may contain an additional script).

To remove an Add-on from your thin client, point Wyse Device Manager software to the script of the Add-on that you want to remove and click on the script name. For example, to remove the ICA Add-on, point Wyse Device Manager software to RM_Addon_ICA_B0052_cen.rsp and click on the script name.

Note that the script can be used with Wyse Device Manager software versions 4.4.1 or later and thin client operating system (CE) versions 5.0 or later.

Not Using Wyse Device Manager Software?

If your Wyse^® Winterm™ 3 series Thin Client is being upgraded through methods other than Wyse Device Manager software, the Firmware, params.ini, and bootstrap files are included in the self-extracting .exe file.
