For backup purposes, it is
highly recommended that you write down your current registry settings before
you begin installing the Wyse CE 5.0 Field Upgrade. This also allows you to
easily reset the registry settings that will not be preserved after your
upgrade.
The following list of
registry settings will NOT be preserved when upgrading from CE .NET 4.0 or
higher to CE 5.0:
§
§
RDP printer
settings – All RDP printer settings
will not be preserved, except RDP 5.1 for CE .NET 4.2 to RDP 5.5 for CE 5.0.
§
Dial-up
Connections – The dial-up type
connection name will be preserved in the Connection Manager. However, all of the
information typically configured through the Dial-up Wizard will default to
empty entries (for example, no phone numbers will be preserved), except when
upgrading from CE .NET 4.2 to CE 5.0.
§
Modems – All settings in the Modems applet will not be
preserved, except when upgrading from CE .NET 4.2 to CE 5.0.
§
§
IE applet
settings – All IE Global Connection
tab settings will not be preserved, except when upgrading from CE .NET 4.2 to
CE 5.0.
