New Support Levels of Rapport Version 4.0

Two levels of support of Rapport version 4.0 are implemented in this release. One is a passive support where a local Rapport® Agent is listening on TCP port 80 for the Rapport® Manager to discover the Thin Client. The other is an active support where the Rapport server address is configured locally from the Network Setup or obtained from a DHCP tag (186). The Thin Client would then execute a check-in sequence on the system startup. Once discovered by the Rapport Manager or check-in to the Rapport Manager - Automatic Device Discovery through Checkin (Pull Discovery) or Management Listener (Push Management), the Rapport Manager keeps a record of this active Thin Client in its database. The Manager then remotely manages the Thin Client through the following examples:

NOTE  To obtain these levels of support, the server must be running Rapport 4.0 or higher and the Thin Client must be running a Winterm 1000 Series version 4.3 or higher.
