* All Dell Wyse cloud clients and Dell monitors support optimized display resolutions at a frequency of 60Hz with color support up to 32bpp unless otherwise indicated. All recommended monitors are verified for a single attached monitor unless otherwise indicated. Some connectivity options may require one or more optional adapters (sold separately, if not included). Some dual monitor configurations may require an optional splitter cable (sold separately) or one or more specialized cables (sold separately) as indicated.

Glossary:

AH IPS
Advanced High-Performance In-Plane Switching improves twisted nematic displays with higher definition, wider viewing angles and improved color reproduction over IPS technology.
Aspect ratio
The proportional relationship between the width and height of a two dimensional image.
Connector
The cable interfaces for attaching a peripheral device to a host device.
DC
Direct current: the unidirectional flow of electric charge. Direct current is used to charge batteries, and, in nearly all electronic systems, used as the power supply.
Display interpolation
Scaling of an image on a display device which causes a loss of image quality.
DVI-D
Digital Visual Interface (digital, only): a video interface standard designed to provide very high visual quality on digital display devices
DVI-I
Digital Visual Interface (digital or analog): a video interface standard designed to provide very high visual quality on digital or analog display devices
DVI-DL
Dual Link Digital Visual Interface: Additional pins in the DVI-D and DVI-I connectors provide a second data link allowing resolutions up to 2560x1600, which are supported by many add-on graphic cards. A connector with these additional pins is sometimes referred to as DVI-DL (dual link).
DisplayPort
DisplayPort is a digital display interface used to connect a video source to a display device such as a computer monitor. It can also be used to transmit audio, USB, and other forms of data.
HDCP
High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection transmit an encrypted signal using the HDCP protocol for copy protection.
HDMI
High Definition Multimedia Interface is a compact audio/video interface for transferring uncompressed video data and compressed/uncompressed digital audio data from a HDMI-compliant device.
IPS
In-Plane Switching is a LCD Twisted Nematic display technology that improves response time, viewing angle and color reproduction in flat panel displays.
LCD
Liquid-crystal display: a flat panel display that uses the light controlling properties of liquid crystals through varying electric currents.
LED
light-emitting diode is a semiconductor light source used as indicator lamps in many devices and are increasingly used for other lighting due to its lower energy consumption, longer life span, improved physical robustness, smaller size, and faster switching.
Native resolution
A one-to-one display quality that does not rely on interpolation (scaling of the image which causes a loss of image quality).
Optimal resolution
A display quality that best suites both the host device and peripheral monitor. The ideal optimal resolution is a perfect match of native resolutions for both the host device and the attached monitor.
Panel type
TN (Twisted Nematic), AH IPS (Advanced High-Performance In-Plane Switching), LCD (Liquid-crystal display) describe the technology used for visual display quality.
Screen size
Diagonal viewable size measured from the lower left corner to the upper right corner (or upper left corner to the lower right corner).
TN
Twisted Nematic: a liquid-crystal display ( LCD ) technology used in computing displays.
VGA
Video Graphics Array: an analog interface used for high definition video
VESA
A family of standards defined by the Video Electronics Standards Association for mounting flat panel monitors, TVs, and other displays to stands or wall mounts.
Dual displays
Two monitors connected to a single host device. Some devices require a splitter cable attached to a single port and others may support individual display ports.
Splitter cable (monitor)
Also know as a Y-splitter, it is used to simultaneously connect two monitors to a single display port.

Recommendation ratings: Standard, Advanced, Premium

Standard, Advanced and Premium ratings are tested and verified monitors which are recommended for a specific Dell Wyse cloud client product based on minimal testing standards and marketability.

  • Standard: Affordable with reasonable image quality. Conservative sizes are around 19-21" diagonal viewing area.
  • Advanced: Mid-range affordability and sizes around 22-23" diagonal viewing area.
  • Premium: Ideally, supports native resolution and optimal (available) resolution with dual monitor use. High-end sizes start around 24-27" diagonal viewing area and/or are based on specific supported features.
