SAN JOSE, Calif. – 08/24/2010 - Wyse Technology, the global leader in cloud client computing, today announced the availability of a family of desktop and mobile thin clients based on the Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 7 operating system. 

Wyse customers will benefit from thin clients based on Windows Embedded Standard 7.  Windows Embedded Standard 7 delivers the power, familiarity and reliability of the popular Windows 7 operating system in a highly customizable and componentized form, enabling Wyse’s new thin client device, including support for Microsoft SCCM-based management and the latest RDP 7 technologies. 

The Wyse-enhanced Windows Embedded Standard 7  models provide seamless connectivity to virtualized, public, and private cloud environments based on Microsoft’s Windows Server 2008 R2, as well as those by Citrix and VMware.  The new Wyse clients include the latest Microsoft virtual remote desktop protocol, Citrix Online Plug-in with HDX support, and VMware View 4.5 support with virtual printing functionality, making them ideal for organizations wanting a combination of broad support for cloud computing and desktop virtualization, and local Windows 7 features including Internet Explorer 8, Windows Media Player 12, and supported locally embedded Windows applications.
