Wyse Technology Engineers Win The Tata Crucible 2005

Top Engineering Talent Defeats Finalist Teams from Nokia, Accenture and Others in Business Quiz Show Sponsored by Indian Conglomerate Tata Group

Wyse Technology, the global leader in thin-client computing, today lauded engineers Ajay Kasargod and Debadatta Mohapatra following their recent victory at "Tata Crucible — The Business Quiz 2005," beating out roughly 3,000 competitors from high profile companies including Accenture, Dell, Google and Nokia. The national competition, which covered eight regions and two rounds of competition, is sponsored by the $17 billion Tata Group conglomerate, based in Mumbai, India, whose annual business and technology quiz show is watched by a significant portion of NDTV’s business viewers each year.

"Wyse Technology is very proud of Ajay and Debadatta for their impressive performances in the Tata Crucible," said John Kish, President and Chief Executive Officer, Wyse Technology. "Faced with tough conditions, tougher questions and some of the toughest competitors in the world, Wyse Technology engineers stood out for their ability to think on their feet. We applaud them."

"With global companies fighting over some of the best engineers in the world, Wyse stands as a clear leader in recruiting talent, dedicated to powering computing solutions for needs as varied as the enterprise datacenter to government business initiatives," said Nav Bhullar, President, Wyse India. "Ajay and Debadatta represent the very best India has to offer and I am delighted that they chose to join the Wyse team."

The engineers have a long history of success at quiz events. Ajay Kasargod first participated in a quiz competition during grade school and later co-founded his engineering university’s quiz club. Debadatta Mohpatra won his first quiz medal at the age of 14 and later became a Gold Medalist at another quiz competition while he was pursuing his master’s degree. For their Tata victory, Ajay and Debadatta will share a variety of technology products and a substantial cash prize.
