Wyse Technology Appoints John Kish as Chief Executive Officer, Expands Management Team

New Executives Will Drive Growth in New Markets, Geographical Regions

Wyse Technology, the domain experts in network-centric computing, today announced the appointment of John Kish as the company's President and Chief Executive Officer. John assumes responsibility for setting Wyse's overall strategic direction and will play a leading role as the company evolves the thin-client market and addresses new markets and product areas. Wyse also announced Robbie Robinson has joined as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Wolfgang Staehle joined as President and General Manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Today's announcement coincides with the closing of Garnett & Helfrich Capital's acquisition of a controlling stake in Wyse for $35 million (see related press release, "Garnett & Helfrich Capital Closes Investment In Wyse Technology").

John Kish brings more than 15 years of senior management experience in the software industry, most notably in senior management positions at Oracle, where he established the company's presence on the desktop, which included all PC, Mac, and Intel-based UNIX variants. Under Kish's leadership, Oracle's Desktop Products Division grew to over 400 employees and over $400 million in revenues. Prior to joining Wyse, Kish previously led four venture-backed startups, including Cacheon, an on-demand application migration software company and Domain Solutions Corporation, a privately held $50M software company that was the result of a 1996 management buy out from Bolt Beranek and Newman (BBN, now Verizon). John is a graduate of the University of Maryland and received a Ph.D. in Mathematical Logics from The Johns Hopkins University.

"Wyse has the potential to lead the industry's next-generation of computing - that's one of the reasons I joined the company," said John Kish, CEO, Wyse Technology. "The convergence of more powerful networks, dramatic growth in wireless devices and the rapid adoption of new technologies in markets like India and China make this the right time for Wyse to expand its lead in the thin-client market and deliver entirely new computing benefits to customers around the world. I'm thrilled to take on that challenge. "

Wolfgang Staehle brings more than 30 years of IT experience to Wyse. Following his start at IBM in various sales and management positions, he successfully founded three companies, including Lehmann & Staehle Informationssysteme, a German IT consulting firm specializing in the financial services industry. Staehle also worked at BBN and Domain Solutions Corporation as general manager of Europe, and at Akamai Technologies as president of EMEA. Staehle was also a founder and board member of the "Center for Quality of Management in Europe" and worked at and supported the European chapter of the World Economic Forum.

Robbie Robinson joins Wyse as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and will be responsible for Wyse's business performance in four geographies -- the Americas, EMEA, Asia Pacific (APAC) and India. Prior to Wyse, Robinson spent 20 years with IBM holding senior positions in research and development, engineering and sales. Following IBM, Robinson was involved in established companies and start-up operations, including Oracle and BT, and was a founding director at Energis which rapidly became the UK's third carrier.
