Software Engineer, Research
Location: San Jose, CA We are currently looking for Software Engineers to work in an entrepreneurial environment at our San office. You will be working in the Engineering R&D Team on early stage projects that will shape the future products of the company. Some of the projects we are currently involved in are related to Vista, Multimedia, Terminal Services, and OS and device virtualization.
The Software Engineer will work on the design and development of prototypes in the areas of client-server applications, operating systems, multimedia, virtualization and networking. The candidate must feel comfortable in a research environment and must be very enthusiastic, ingenious and creative. The position requires a deep understanding of large software systems, an ability to collaborate in small to medium sized groups consisting of world-class engineers and researchers, and ability to design and implement complex applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are an absolute must have. A quick learner with great problem solving skills is essential in this environment. The perfect candidate for this position will be eager to learn new technologies and take significant risks.
Minimum Requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 2-5 years of related professional work experience
- Strong software engineering skills with expertise in C, C++ and Java
- Strong object-oriented design and implementation skills
- Windows and Linux/UNIX Operating System experience
- Experience in Socket Programming and networking
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with Device Driver Development, OS Development, Virtualization, RTP/UDP, Windows DDK/SDK, DirectX, Flash and Vista all a plus
