Public Relations Manager

Location: San Jose, California

This position will work with Wyse's PR agency to create & implement targeted and strategic PR campaigns, as well as running a busy press office, responding to daily media enquiries. News generation and building relationships with journalists will be crucial. If you have a professional and confident approach, with a successful, proven track record in desktop hardware and enterprise software we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities include:
  • Planning and initiating PR campaigns: defining goals; analyzing problems and opportunities; liaising with management and customers and agency vendors
  • Working with management, strategy and product teams to develop press releases and core messaging
  • Driving PR strategies and tactics that support and promote company and client objectives
  • Working with business development, product, research, and marketing teams to help shape our brand
  • Working with Analyst partners to drive strategy on briefings and inquiries with staff
  • Managing agencies PR resources and budgets
  • Maintaining productive relationships with key media representatives; working closely with media to shape and control reporting
  • Driving Wyse's Customer Reference Program Activities with customers, partners, and channel members, including Wyse's Customer Advisory Board, Success Stories and Case Studies.
Job Requirements:

Skills required include strong written and verbal skills both in informal and formal client and business settings, solid understanding of public relations and marketing principles, strategic planning and implementation, strong client relations skills, knowledge of new business development, critical thinking skills. Must be skilled at project management managing public relations activities for multiple client or divisions, keeping team members focused and motivated on generating the best results, while managing resources and budget along the way. Passion for technology, passion for ideas and passion for moving companies into new categories of leadership are all critical to success in this role.

Minimum of five years public relations and business experience required. Recent agency background in a management position preferred. BA degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, English or PR related discipline.
  • Demonstrated media relations plus proven creative and strategic thinking 
  • Strong leadership and project-management skills 
  • Proven client-management and advocacy skills, with excellent follow-through and follow-up 
  • Highly developed verbal, written and presentation skills
